Job summary

Kolbe Catholic College in Melbourne's northern suburbs is seeking a Learning Support Officer to join our supportive team. This part-time, 0.60 FTE role focuses on providing targeted assistance to students with diverse learning needs and enabling inclusive classroom participation.

You will work closely with teachers, families, and specialist staff to implement adjustments outlined in IEPs, maintain records, and support literacy and numeracy programs. Share our commitment to student wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting students with diverse learning needs.
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, families and specialists.
• Familiarity with Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and associated adjustments.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualised support to students with diverse academic, physical, behavioural, or social-emotional needs.
• Support teachers in implementing adjustments and accommodations outlined in IEPs.
• Assist students to access classroom learning and participate meaningfully in school activities.
• Reinforce teaching and learning activities through small-group or one-on-one instruction.
• Support literacy, numeracy, and other intervention programs.
• Prepare or adapt learning materials and resources under teacher guidance.
• Observe and record student progress, engagement, and behaviour to inform planning.
• Maintain accurate NCCD documentation and electronic student records.
• Assist with classroom organisation, transitions, and behaviour management strategies.
• Support students during school activities and assessments as required.
• Provide general administrative support, including scanning, filing, and preparing meeting notes.
