Job summary

St Philip’s Christian College in Newcastle, NSW, seeks a Learning Support Assistant to work under the Director for Learning Support, supporting literacy, numeracy and inclusive education across classes. Qualifications

• Committed Christian actively involved in an evangelical church.
• Understanding of social/emotional development and embedding strategies in education.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Current Working with Children Check.

Responsibilities

• Work with teaching staff to support student learning and engagement.
• Deliver Tier 2 (strategic) and Tier 3 (intensive) literacy and numeracy programs for small groups.
• Submit assessment data to the Learning Support Teacher regularly.
• Run small groups per timetable and maintain records of attendance and lesson notes.
• Assist in maintaining Individual Student Programs and termly activity timetables.
• Provide feedback to Learning Support Teacher and class teachers on progress.
• Supervise activities and assist with testing and disability provisions as directed.
