Job summary

Parkville College seeks a Learning Specialist to advance teaching excellence across its multi-campus setup. The role focuses on high-quality classroom delivery, coaching peers, and leading professional development to improve achievement, engagement, and wellbeing for students aged 10–21 in custody and related programs.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated expert knowledge of the relevant curriculum and ability to model exemplary teaching across literacy and numeracy.
• Ability to support teachers to evaluate impact of learning programs using data.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and coach teachers and lead school-based professional learning.
• Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills to engage with students, parents and the school community.
• Ability to reflect on practice and facilitate professional learning with a culturally responsive approach.

Responsibilities

• Model high-quality teaching through demonstration lessons and classroom delivery.
• Mentor and coach teachers to improve practice and student outcomes.
• Lead school-based professional development and PLCs.
• Use student data to inform teaching and share feedback with staff and families.
• Support VET and other curriculum initiatives within the school community.
