Job summary

Charles La Trobe College is seeking a Learning Specialist who will spend the majority of time in the classroom while delivering high-quality teaching and learning. The role includes teaching demonstration lessons, observing and providing feedback to teachers and facilitating school-based professional learning.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to model high quality teaching and learning.
• Demonstrated ability to model monitoring and assessment of student learning.
• Demonstrated ability to provide feedback to students and parents.
• Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to mentor and coach teachers and lead professional learning.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrating high-level expertise in teaching and learning practice.
• Modeling exemplary classroom practice including through teaching demonstration lessons.
• Leading and modelling the implementation of whole‑school improvement strategies related to curriculum planning and delivery.
• Providing evidence-based feedback to teaching staff to inform their effectiveness and development.
• Supervising and training student teachers and mentoring and/or coaching teachers.
• Developing and promoting school-wide professional learning structures.
