Job summary

Elevation Secondary College in Melbourne's northern growth corridor is seeking a Learning Specialist to join the teaching service. The role focuses on modeling excellence, mentoring teachers and delivering evidence-based induction and coaching to improve student achievement, engagement and wellbeing.

You will work with the Curriculum Leadership Team to drive college-wide professional learning, support new staff and promote high expectations, inclusivity and trauma-informed practice.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated expert knowledge of the relevant curriculum and ability to model exemplary teaching across literacy and numeracy.
• Demonstrated expertise in high impact teaching strategies and use of data to inform practice.
• Demonstrated ability to monitor and assess student learning and provide feedback to students and parents.
• Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills for collaborating with students, colleagues and the school community.
• Demonstrated alignment with Department values and a commitment to professional learning.
• Outstanding professional attributes including perseverance, humility, collaboration and improvement focus.

Responsibilities

• Lead an evidence-based induction program for staff.
• Provide instructional coaching and mentoring to improve teacher practice.
• Model excellent teaching and support others to enhance classroom rigour and student effort.
• Build capacity to implement consistent classroom practices and feedback loops.
• Support college-wide professional learning and evaluate teaching effectiveness.
