We are renowned for a distinct and challenging approach to academic excellence that celebrates a love of learning across a wealth of disciplines, and for developing girls who move beyond their comfort zone to become fearless and adaptable leaders in their chosen field.

Position Information

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Learning Enhancement Teacher to join our dedicated Learning Enhancement faculty and play a key role in supporting students with diverse learning needs across our primary and secondary schools.

Working closely with the Learning Enhancement Leader, classroom teachers, parents and external specialists, you will support students who have additional learning needs, high intellectual potential, or English as an additional language. Through assessment, targeted intervention and personalised planning, you will help students develop the confidence, independence and strategies they need to succeed.

This is a rewarding opportunity for an educator who is passionate about inclusive education and enjoys working collaboratively to improve outcomes for individual learners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and identify student learning needs using a range of diagnostic and standardised assessment tools.
  • Plan, implement and evaluate evidence-based intervention and extension programs using an MTSS framework.
  • Develop, monitor and review Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) and Learning Enhancement Plans (LEPs).
  • Analyse student achievement data, including NAPLAN and PAT results, to inform learning support and intervention strategies.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents and specialists to implement effective learning adjustments.
  • Support the NCCD process and maintain accurate student records and documentation.
  • Provide specialist advice and mentoring to teachers to support diverse learners in the classroom.
  • Facilitate enrichment opportunities for students with high intellectual potential.
  • Work directly with individual students and small groups to develop learning skills, confidence and independence.
  • Assist with school-based assessments and the administration of learning support programs.
About you

As the successful candidate, you will possess:

  • relevant teaching qualifications and VIT registration.
  • experience supporting students with a range of learning needs.
  • strong knowledge of literacy and numeracy intervention programs and evidence-based learning support practices.
  • skills in analysing assessment data and developing targeted interventions.
  • excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • high organisation skills and be collaborative and committed to achieving positive outcomes for students.
  • a genuine passion for inclusive education and student growth.

Fintona teachers seek out and implement new ideas and practices to enliven our students’ learning journey, are integral to student wellbeing and safety and embed themselves in the ethos and life of the School. This includes attending school wide events, excursions, and engaging in our camps program.

In addition to working in a highly professional and collegiate environment, as the successful applicant, you can receive:

  • Access to confidential wellbeing and support services;
  • Supportive paid parental leave, with superannuation maintained for up to 52 weeks;
  • Substantial long service and annual leave entitlements;
  • Extensive learning and development opportunities to support career development; and
  • Regular opportunities to connect through a vibrant and active social club.
