Job summary

Latrobe City Council is seeking a Learning and Development Advisor in Morwell on a 30.4 hour per week fixed term basis. The role is hybrid with at least 3 days per week in the office.

You will design and deliver learning programmes, support leadership development and create opportunities for staff to grow and succeed across the organisation. Join a team focused on workforce capability, partnerships with education providers and meaningful development pathways.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and delivering learning programmes.
• Experience facilitating learning sessions and workshops.
• Ability to partner with stakeholders across a diverse workforce.
• Knowledge of trainee, apprentice and early careers programmes is plus.

We're looking for a Learning & Development Advisor to join our People & Culture team. In this role, you'll help build workforce capability across Council by designing and delivering impactful learning programmes, supporting leadership development and creating opportunities for people to learn, grow and succeed.

What You'll be Doing

• Design, coordinate and facilitate learning, leadership development and workforce capability initiatives that support organisational priorities.
• Lead the delivery and continuous improvement of Council's corporate induction, internal learning catalogue and development pathways.
• Coordinate and enhance Council's Performance Development Program, including resources, communications and continuous improvement activities.
• Support and develop trainee, apprentice and early careers programmes that contribute to workforce development and succession planning.
• Partner with leaders and employees to identify capability needs and develop practical learning solutions.
• Evaluate learning outcomes and use feedback and data to continuously improve programs and initiatives.

About You

You are passionate about helping others learn, grow and succeed. You bring experience designing, developing and facilitating learning programmes, resources and capability initiatives, along with the ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders across a diverse workforce. Experience in learning and development, organisational development or human resources or a related field will help you succeed in this role. You'll enjoy working collaboratively to create practical learning solutions that support leadership development, workforce capability and early careers programmes.

Key Selection Criteria

• Relevant qualification in Learning and Development, Human Resources, Organisational Development or a related discipline, or relevant experience.
• Experience designing, developing, facilitating and evaluating learning solutions that build workforce capability and support organisational priorities.
• Highly developed stakeholder engagement, facilitation and influencing skills, with the ability to gain commitment and drive capability outcomes across a diverse workforce.
• Knowledge of trainee, apprentice, early careers and workforce development programmes, including effective engagement with education providers, participants and workplace stakeholders.
