Job summary

Carpentaria is a not-for-profit organisation delivering Disability and Therapy Services in Darwin. The Learning and Workforce Capability Manager will lead the workforce capability function to ensure staff develop the necessary knowledge, skills and verified competencies across programs.

Working with Human Resources and program directors, you will identify capability needs, align learning priorities with participant outcomes and regulatory requirements, and report to senior leaders.

Qualifications

  • Leadership experience in operational learning or workforce capability in disability/health sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of NDIS Practice Standards and safeguarding requirements.
  • Ability to analyse workforce capability data and prepare reports for senior leaders.
  • Experience collaborating with HR, program directors and governance committees.

Purpose

The Learning and Workforce Capability Manager is responsible for leading Carpentaria's workforce capability function, ensuring employees develop, maintain and demonstrate the knowledge, skills and verified competencies required to deliver safe, high-quality and person-centred services across all programs. Working in partnership with Human Resources, Program Directors and operational leaders, the role identifies workforce capability needs and aligns learning priorities with participant outcomes, organisational risk, legislative requirements and continuous improvement objectives.

The ideal candidate

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Education, Human Services, Health, Organisational Development, Adult Learning or a related discipline.
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent).
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing operational learning, workforce capability or organisational training within the disability, health, child protection or community services sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of the NDIS Practice Standards, NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission requirements, safeguarding principles and relevant legislative frameworks.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse workforce capability data and prepare high-quality reports for senior leaders and governance committees.
  • Excellent leadership, project management, stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
