Job summary

Blacktown City Council is seeking a Learn to Swim Instructor to teach swimmers of all ages within the Aqua Learn to Swim Program across our aquatic centres. You plan and deliver lessons, assess progress, manage class attendance and provide feedback to parents and carers.

This role sits within Key Venues and involves flexible hours, including after school, weekends and school holidays, with ongoing training and development to enhance your teaching skills and community impact.

Qualifications

• Confident in the water and able to teach swimming with clarity.
• Good communication and customer service mindset.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Learn to Swim lessons across Council’s aquatic centres.
• Assess swimmer progress and provide feedback to parents and carers.
• Manage class attendance and maintain a safe, positive learning environment.
• Collaborate with other instructors and venue staff to run the program smoothly.
