Job summary

Successful candidates will plan and deliver learn-to-swim and water-safety lessons, support the Aquatic Programs team, and maintain high customer service. Flexible hours include early mornings to evenings; safety and compliance are priorities.

Qualifications

• Current Austswim Certificate for Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety is essential.
• Current Austswim Certificate for Teacher of Infant and Pre-School preferred or required.
• CPR/Resuscitation certification is required.
• Working with Children Check (NSW) is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct learn to swim and water safety lessons for varied groups.
• Support the Aquatic Programs team with coaching and safety guidance.
• Adapt programs to student needs and ensure resource availability.
• Respond to emergencies per council emergency action plans.
• Maintain equipment and storage areas, and set up/put away gear.
• Prepare regular reports on participants for the Aquatic Programs Supervisor.
• Identify safety hazards and report them promptly.
• Assist in policy review to maintain safety and compliance.
• Maintain positive relationships with participants and guardians.
