Job summary

Blacktown City Council is seeking a Learn to Swim Instructor to deliver Aqua Learn to Swim lessons across our aquatic centres. You will plan, teach, assess progress and provide parent feedback while keeping classes on time and safe.

The role involves flexible shifts, including after school, weekends and school holidays, in a supportive team setting. You will work with other instructors to ensure a high-quality program and a positive experience for every swimmer, contributing to community safety

Qualifications

• Ability to plan and deliver Learn to Swim lessons.
• Strong water safety skills and classroom management.
• Experience in teaching or instructing a mixed-age group is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Teach swimmers of all ages through the Aqua Learn to Swim program.
• Assess progress, manage class attendance, and provide feedback to parents.
• Maintain safe, on-time, and enjoyable lessons; respond to inquiries.
• Work with fellow instructors to deliver high-quality, positive experiences.
• Contribute to participant milestones and ongoing program training.
