Job summary

Ausgrid is seeking an experienced Leading Hand to coordinate field-based network activities and support safe overhead construction, maintenance and restoration work. You will work with field crews, contractors and other teams to ensure quality, safety and timely delivery.

The role requires HR/RL licences, Electrical Safety Rules accreditation, and strong communication and documentation skills. Based at Dee Why Depot with a 7am–3:30pm schedule and a fortnightly RDO.

Qualifications

• High Risk Work Licences (HRWL) – C2 crane and dogging.
• HR or HC licence holder.
• Electrical Safety Rules accreditation and related statutory training.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively and complete written/system documentation.
• Experience erecting/removing poles and leading staff (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate field-based activities and work crews to ensure on-site safety and quality.
• Coordinate site inductions, permits, SWMS, HACS and other documentation.
• Monitor and maintain safe operation of plant, equipment and materials.
• Investigate and report overhead construction failures.
• Provide technical advice to employees, contractors and workgroups.
• Assist with planning, scheduling and resource allocation with Field Supervisors.
• Participate in emergency response and restoration activities.
• Assist with site assessments, estimating activities and quote preparation.

$98,176 base + 16.5% Super + a fortnightly Rostered Day Off (RDO)

We are seeking an experienced Leading Hand to coordinate the delivery of field-based network activities and support the safe execution of overhead construction, maintenance and restoration work.

This role is responsible for coordinating work on site to ensure activities are completed safely and to the required standards of quality, cost and time. Working closely with field crews, contractors and other workgroups, you will contribute to the reliability and sustainability of the electricity network while maintaining a strong focus on safety

Your key responsibilities will include:

Coordinate field-based activities and work crews to ensure work is undertaken safely and completed to approved standards of quality.

Coordinate onsite work activities and safety requirements, including site inductions, permits, SWMS, HACS and other site documentation.

Monitor and maintain the safe operation of plant, equipment and materials.

Investigate, rectify and report on overhead construction failures.

Provide technical advice to employees, contractors and other workgroups.

Assist Field Supervisors by providing input into planning, scheduling and resource allocation activities.

Participate in emergency response and restoration activities when required.

Assist with site assessments, estimating activities and quote preparation for upcoming work.

What you bring to the role

To be successful, you will have the following skills & experience:

High Risk Work Licences (HRWL) – multiple such as C2 crane and dogging.

HR or HC licence.

Electrical Safety Rules accreditation and relevant statutory training.

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and complete written and system-based documentation.

Experience in erecting and removal of poles and in leading staff (preferred).
