Job summary

REMONDIS Australia Pty Ltd is seeking a Leading Hand Operator for our Materials Recovery Facility in Canning Vale, WA. You will supervise daily operations, ensure safety and efficiency, and support a small team on a busy recycling line.

The role requires baler, forklift and front-end loader operation licenses, hands-on plant experience, and a readiness to work early starts on a rotating Monday-to-Friday roster with Saturday involvement.

Qualifications

• Baler operation, Forklift and Front-End Loader licenses with hands-on experience are essential.
• Proven supervisory or leading hand experience is preferred.
• Hands-on plant operator experience in a recycling facility is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Operate plant equipment such as balers, forklift and front-end loader.
• Move and sort recyclable materials across the facility.
• Load/unload, stockpile and process materials to meet production targets.
• Identify and resolve basic mechanical issues and schedule rosters for the team.
• Perform routine admin duties as required.

Leading Hand Operator - Material Recovery Facility

• Enjoy permanent, full-time employment in our team at Canning Vale, WA
• Monday to Friday rotating roster
• Early starts from 5:00am to 8:00am, with shifts up to 8 hours per day
• Every second Saturday is required - Sundays and weekly overtime occasionally available

What you'll be doing

• Operating plant equipment such as Balers, Forklift and Front-End Loader are essential.
• Handling and moving recyclable materials across the facility
• Loading/unloading recyclables, stockpiling, and processing materials
• Reviewing production and meeting production targets
• Identify and resolve basic mechanical issues
• Scheduling rosters for the team
• Take on inherent admin duties

What you'll bring

• Baler operation, Forklift and Front-End Loader license and experience are essential
• Proven supervisory or leading hand experience is preferred
• Hands-on experience as a plant operator; landfill or recycling facility is preferred
• Working knowledge of computer applications
• Willingness to work in a hands-on environment
