Red Arrow Australia is recruiting an experienced Earthworks Leading Hand to steer a bulk earthworks crew on a major civil infrastructure project in Southwest Queensland. The role requires hands-on leadership, ensuring safety, efficiency and design compliance across 12-hour days and a 15/6 roster.

The position offers camp accommodation with meals, transport from pickup points, PPE supplied and a strong safety culture.

Competenze

• Leading Hand experience in bulk earthworks on civil projects.
• Proven ability to lead and coordinate a bulk earthworks crew.
• Current C Class driver's licence and Construction Induction Card (White Card).

The purpose of this role is to lead a bulk earthworks crew on a day-to-day basis, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to design specification, while maintaining high standards of productivity, quality and plant utilisation.
Details:

• 15/6 roster - travel in day one, travel out day fifteen

Key responsibilities:

• Lead, direct and support a bulk earthworks crew to deliver work safely, efficiently and in accordance with project specifications
• Coordinate the operation of bulk earthmoving fleets, including moxy dump trucks, scrapers, dozers and excavators
• Interpret drawings, levels and survey information to ensure earthworks are completed to design tolerances
• Monitor productivity, material movement and plant utilisation, reporting progress and constraints to the Supervisor
• Conduct pre-start meetings, toolbox talks and take 5s, and actively promote a positive safety culture within the crew
• Identify hazards, participate in risk assessments and ensure all work is carried out in accordance with safety procedures, permits and work instructions
• Liaise with surveyors, engineers, plant operators and other work fronts to coordinate activities and minimise downtime
• Mentor and develop crew members, including operators and labourers
• Complete daily diaries, timesheets, plant records and quality documentation accurately and on time
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe work environment at all times

Experience/Qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience as a Leading Hand, Crew Leader or Foreman on bulk earthworks within civil construction, roadworks or resources
• Hands on experience with bulk earthmoving fleets, particularly moxy dump trucks and scrapers
• Sound understanding of civil drawings, survey marks, levels and earthworks tolerances
• Required - Current C Class driver's licence
• Required - Current Construction Induction Card (White Card)

If you are successful for this position you will need to provide a current national police clearance and pass a full medical.
Must have full rights to work in Australia.
