CoreStaff is seeking an experienced Solid Waste Treatment – Operations worker for the Shoal Bay Waste Management Facility in NT. This ongoing role involves leading crews, operating heavy mobile plant, and ensuring WHS and environmental compliance. A path to permanent work after 6 months is possible.

Starting pay is $48 per hour plus penalties, with a 10:4 roster and weekly pay. This is a valuable opportunity to join a supportive team on a well‑established project.

Qualificações

• Experience in landfill, civil, earthmoving or heavy industrial operations.
• Experience operating heavy mobile plant.
• Previous team leadership or supervisory experience.
• Current HR Driver’s Licence and Construction White Card.
• RII plant operating tickets and LF forklift desirable.

Responsabilidades

• Lead and coordinate daily work activities for staff and contractors.
• Operate heavy mobile plant including dozers, excavators, loaders, landfill compactors and articulated dump trucks.
• Oversee waste receival, inspections, segregation, placement and compaction.
• Ensure compliance with WHS, environmental and waste acceptance requirements.
• Conduct pre-starts, toolbox talks, site inductions and on-the-job training.
• Complete plant and equipment inspections.
• Maintain operational records and safety documentation.
• Support the Operations Supervisor with general site coordination.
• Assist with maintaining safe and efficient day‑to‑day site operations.

About Our Client

Our client is seeking an experienced Solid Waste Treatment – Operations worker to join their team at the Shoal Bay Waste Management Facility. This is an ongoing opportunity for an experienced operator with strong leadership skills and a background in landfill, civil, earthmoving or heavy industrial environments. There is high potential for the successful candidate to transition into a permanent role after 6 months.

Your duties will include but are not limited to:

• Lead and coordinate daily work activities for staff and contractors

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Experience in landfill, civil, earthmoving or heavy industrial operations
• Demonstrated experience operating heavy mobile plant
• Previous team leadership, leading hand or supervisory experience
• Current relevant RII plant operating tickets
• Current HR Driver’s Licence
• Construction White Card
• LF Forklift Licence desirable
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and environmental compliance
• Good communication, planning and problem‑solving skills
• Ability to complete pre‑starts, safety documentation and operational records
• Ability to pass required pre‑employment checks, including medical and drug & alcohol testing
