Job summary

Brooks Hire in Kalgoorlie invites a qualified Leading Hand to join our WA branch. With a national footprint and a fleet of heavy equipment, this role supports workshop flow, service-to-workshop transitions, and hands-on servicing.

You will bring a heavy vehicle/machinery trade qualification, 3–5 years in a similar role, and a hands-on, autonomous approach. HR license preferred, pass medical, and contribute to maintenance, repairs, and preparing machines for sale.

Qualifications

• Heavy vehicle/machinery mechanical trade qualification required.
• Minimum 3–5 years in a similar Leading Hand role.
• Australian work rights required.

Responsibilities

• Manage workflow from service to workshop.
• Contribute to the setup of the workshop and parts department.
• Conduct minor repairs and servicing.
• Prepare new machines for sale.
• Perform mechanical repairs and contribute to new build/modifications.

Responsibilities/Duties:

• Manage workflow from service to workshop
• Contribute to the setup of the workshop and parts department
• Conduct minor repairs and servicing
• Prepare new machines for sale
• Perform mechanical repairs and contribute to new build/modifications

Requirements:

• Heavy vehicle/machinery mechanical trade qualification required
• Essential experience in a similar role
• Minimum 3-5 years of similar Leading Hand experience required
• 3/1 & 2/2 roster options available
• Solid knowledge of Heavy Duty Equipment
• Competency in routine maintenance on machines
• Driver's license, HR preferred
• Desirable Forklift/High-risk work licenses
• Hands-on approach and excellent communication skills
• Proficient computer skills
• Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment
• Must pass a Medical, including a Drug & Alcohol test
• Australian work rights required for this position
