Job summary

Carinity Education – Gladstone is seeking a passionate Senior Youth Worker – Student Wellbeing to lead our Youth Worker team and deliver trauma‑informed, strengths‑based support for young people.

You will oversee student wellbeing casework, coach staff, respond to complex behaviours, and build strong connections with students, families and community services to ensure coordinated support and positive educational outcomes.

Qualifications

• Diploma of Youth Work (or related discipline) is required.
• Experience supporting vulnerable, disengaged or marginalized youth.
• Strong understanding of co-regulation and trauma-informed approaches to behaviour support.
• Experience leading, supervising and mentoring Youth Workers in complex environments.
• Experience developing, implementing, and monitoring Individual Learning Plans through a structured committee.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication; ability to collaborate with students, families and multidisciplinary teams.
• Working with Children Check (Blue Card) is required.
• Current Bus Licence (LR) or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Oversee student wellbeing casework and coach staff in best practices.
• Lead and mentor Youth Workers to deliver trauma-informed support.
• Respond to complex behaviours and critical incidents with effective strategies.
• Build strong relationships with students, families and community service partners to ensure coordinated support.
