Job summary

Carinity Education – Gladstone is seeking a passionate, experienced Senior Youth Worker – Student Wellbeing to lead our Youth Worker team and deliver trauma-informed, strengths-based support for young people.

You will oversee student wellbeing casework, coach staff, respond to complex behaviours, and champion wellbeing approaches, building strong links with families and community services to coordinate meaningful support.

Qualifications

• Diploma of Youth Work or a related discipline.
• Experience supporting vulnerable, disengaged or marginalized young people to achieve positive outcomes.
• A strong understanding of co-regulation practices and trauma-informed approaches to behaviour support.
• Demonstrated experience leading, supervising and mentoring Youth Workers in a complex or challenging environment.
• Demonstrated experience in the development, implementation, and monitoring of student’s Individual Learning Plans through a structured Support Committee.

Responsibilities

• Oversee student wellbeing casework and coordinate responses.
• Coach staff in effective youth work practices and trauma-informed approaches.
• Support responses to complex behaviours and critical situations.
• Champion trauma-informed approaches across the School.
• Build strong relationships with students, families, and community services to ensure coordinated support.
