Job summary

Carinity Education Southside is seeking a Youth Worker to place student wellbeing at the centre of practice, providing therapeutic support and leading casework management in partnership with teachers and youth workers.

You will develop support plans, monitor interventions, respond to crises and supervise Youth Workers to promote safe, learning-ready environments. A Bachelor of Social Work, experience with at-risk young people, a Blue Card and a valid open driver's licence are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Social Work or a relevant discipline.
• Experience supporting at-risk or marginalised young people, including trauma exposure.
• In-depth knowledge of Child Protection legislation and processes.
• A current Blue Card (Working with Children Check).
• Open Drivers Licence and willingness to drive a 12-seater minibus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee student casework, ensuring timely, purposeful and student-centred interventions.
• Provide calm, therapeutic support to students experiencing emotional distress or crisis.
• Coordinate external referrals and liaise with families and agencies.
• Supervise, mentor and support Youth Workers, focusing on wellbeing and burnout prevention.
