The Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager – Work Health & Safety, this role applies specialist expertise in workplace training and adult learning to design, direct and continuously improve Liontown's WHS training framework at Kathleen Valley. You'll provide thought leadership and technical direction on training standards and practices, working closely with site-based trainers and WHS teams across the operation.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Design, direct and continuously improve Liontown's WHS training framework at Kathleen Valley
  • Provide day-to-day leadership and coaching to the WHS Trainers, supporting their development and performance
  • Act as the subject matter expert for WHS training and competency development across the business
  • Provide authoritative technical guidance to site-based trainers and WHS teams on training design and delivery standards
  • Lead cross-functional training initiatives, coordinating input from WHS, Operations and People & Culture stakeholders
  • Ensure Liontown's WHS training framework aligns with legislative requirements and industry standards
What We're Looking For
  • Extensive experience in workplace training and development, ideally within work health and safety or a related field
  • Significant experience designing and implementing training frameworks across a large or complex organisation
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or equivalent); a Diploma or tertiary qualification in WHS, education or adult learning is desirable
  • Recognised subject matter expertise in training design, delivery and adult learning methodology
  • Advanced influencing and stakeholder engagement skills across all levels of the business
  • Ability to lead and coordinate cross-functional initiatives and solve complex, ambiguous training challenges without formal authority
Why Liontown

At Liontown, you'll join a team that's helping power the clean energy future. Our culture is built on people who take ownership, look out for each other, and are proud of what they're building together. This is a permanent position on an 8:6 roster (12-hour days), and you'll also have access to:

  • A leadership role with genuine influence over WHS training standards and strategy, not just execution
  • Direct access to and mentoring from senior operational leadership, with a clear path to further leadership roles as Kathleen Valley matures
  • Recognition and reward, including performance incentives
  • A competitive salary package, reflective of the specialist skills this role demands
  • Kathleen Valley sports courts, running track, gym and female-only fitness area, plus access to health and fitness discount partners across Australia
  • Generous leave entitlements, including enhanced parental leave for primary and secondary carers
  • Genuine investment in professional development, including support for further study and technical training
  • A collaborative, safety-first culture where your voice and technical judgement carry real weight
