Job summary

NSW Department of Communities and Justice seeks a Tradesperson – Hygiene/Cleaning Operations at Long Bay Hospital, Lang Bay Correctional Complex in Matraville NSW. The role is full-time, Monday to Friday, with a salary of $97,285 per year plus allowances, leave loading and superannuation.

You will lead inmates in a dynamic team, delivering practical trade work, coordinating operations to achieve high-quality outcomes while ensuring Health and Safety and quality standards are met.

Qualifications

• Minimum Certificate III in Hygiene Operations, Cleaning Operations, Horticulture or related trades.
• Post-trade experience in a diverse operational environment.
• Current Driver Licence and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor inmates, passing on trade skills and building employability.
• Combine hands-on trade work with leadership and coaching to drive outcomes.
• Deliver practical on-the-job training and contribute to rehabilitation programs.
• Manage tools, equipment and resources and maintain a safe, compliant workshop.
