Job summary

NSW Department of Communities and Justice is seeking qualified tradespeople for ongoing, full-time roles at Parklea Correctional Centre. Lead and mentor Overseers while coaching inmates to build job-ready skills.

Role focuses on daily operations, safety, quality, and achieving productivity and outcomes. Essential requirements include Certificate III in relevant trades or Correctional Practice, a driver licence, and proven trade experience.

Qualifications

• Proven trade experience and willingness to lead teams.
• Certificate III Correctional Practice or progressing toward completion.
• Current Driver Licence and ability to drive as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and mentor work teams to meet objectives.
• Supervise inmates to build practical skills and work readiness.
• Drive continuous improvement while ensuring policy compliance.
• Manage budgets and resources to maximise productivity.
• Maintain a safe, compliant workplace for staff, contractors and inmates.
