DC Search has partnered with a leading renewable energy company to recruit an experienced O&M Lead Technician for a solar farm near Gunnedah, NSW. You will oversee day-to-day operations, lead a team of technicians, and ensure safe, reliable plant performance.

This leadership role offers an opportunity to advance within the rapidly growing renewable energy sector and to drive maintenance strategies for maximum availability.

Qualifications

  • NSW A Grade Electrical Licence is required (or Mutual Recognition).
  • Current Australian Driver’s Licence is essential.
  • White Card and LVR/CPR certifications are required.
  • Experience in maintenance roles, with leadership exposure preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee on-site operations and maintenance safely and efficiently.
  • Plan and coordinate daily maintenance activities with resource allocation.
  • Monitor performance of plant systems including inverters and electrical infra.
  • Develop preventive and reactive maintenance strategies to maximise uptime.
  • Lead and mentor a team of technicians, fostering safety and continuous improvement.
  • Take charge during outages and coordinate timely restoration of the plant.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical, EH&S requirements and standards.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and contractors to sustain high performance.

Location: Near Gunnedah, NSW
Salary: $120,000 base + performance bonus + allowances
Total Package: Approximately $132,500–$138,000 + Super
Roster: 4/3

DC Search has partnered with a leading renewable energy company to recruit an experienced O&M Lead Technician for a solar farm near Gunnedah, NSW.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced electrical technician looking to take the next step into a leadership role within the rapidly growing renewable energy sector.

You’ll play a key role in overseeing the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the solar farm, leading a team of technicians and ensuring the plant operates safely, reliably and at maximum performance.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Oversee all on‑site operations and maintenance activities, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and in line with business objectives.
  • Plan and coordinate daily maintenance activities, allocating resources and prioritising tasks to meet operational targets.
  • Monitor and optimise the performance of plant systems, including inverters, solar panels and electrical infrastructure.
  • Develop and implement preventive and reactive maintenance strategies to maximise plant availability and minimise downtime.
  • Lead, mentor and support a team of technicians, promoting a strong safety culture and continuous improvement.
  • Take the lead during planned and unplanned outages, troubleshooting issues and coordinating timely restoration of the plant.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant electrical, environmental, health and safety requirements.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders and contractors to maintain high standards of plant performance and reliability.
Key Requirements
  • NSW A Grade Electrical Licenceor Mutual Recognition
  • Current Australian Driver’s Licence
  • HV Switching experience or qualification(Desirable)
  • White Card
  • LVR / CPR
  • Previous experience within maintenance
