Job summary

Footscray West Primary School in Melbourne's inner western suburbs seeks an experienced Leader to oversee Disability Inclusion. The Leading Teacher will work with the Leadership Team to implement inclusive practices, interventions, and student support, with a potential part-time teaching load during tenure.

Focus on developing systemic approaches, MTSS, early identification, appropriate supports, and staff capacity.

Qualifications

• SC1 Demonstrated expert knowledge of the relevant curriculum and ability to lead and manage school priorities.
• SC2 Ability to plan and implement high impact teaching strategies that respond to student needs and evaluate impact on learning growth.
• SC3 Demonstrated ability to monitor and assess student learning and use data to drive improvement.
• SC4 Strong interpersonal and leadership skills for collaboration with students, colleagues, parents and the school community.
• SC5 Ability to model Department values and support professional learning among staff.
• SC6 Ability to implement the Disability Inclusion Program to improve provision for students with additional needs.

Responsibilities

• Leading and coordinating whole-school improvements aligned with the strategic plan and priorities.
• Overseeing and implementing curriculum planning and delivery improvements.
• Providing professional development and coaching for teaching staff within priorities.
• Managing staff performance and development (reviews).
• Delivering demonstration lessons and supporting assessment and reporting policies.
• Leading the development of school operations policies related to student welfare and discipline.
• Developing and managing curriculum in major areas and contributing to cross-curricular planning.
• Contributing to school council proposals and governance.
• Developing and managing the school code of conduct.
