Job summary

Melrose Primary School in Wodonga seeks a Leading Teacher – Welfare / Disability Inclusion to provide strategic leadership for inclusive practices. You will lead the Disability Inclusion Profile implementation, coordinate student support processes and build staff capability to deliver targeted adjustments and inclusive teaching.

You will work with allied health, Student Support Services and families to ensure meaningful participation, wellbeing and learning outcomes for students with disability

Qualifications

• High-level knowledge of the Disability Inclusion Profile (DIP) and related policy frameworks.
• Ability to lead assessment, documentation and review for Disability Inclusion funding eligibility.
• Ensure evidence, adjustments and documentation support individual student needs.
• Lead planning and evaluation of inclusive teaching strategies and practices.
• Develop staff capability to deliver inclusive learning and behaviour support.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, implementation and evaluation of programs for students with disability and additional needs.
• Coordinate Disability Inclusion processes, assessments and documentation.
• Develop appropriate adjustments and teaching programs with staff.
• Ensure identification, monitoring and review of individual student needs.
• Provide leadership of Education Support to support student learning and inclusion.
• Coordinate ES allocation and deployment based on student need.
• Support Student Support Groups and Individual Education Plans.
• Maintain effective partnerships with allied health, SSS, visiting teachers and external services.
• Oversee policy, compliance, documentation and reporting relating to Disability Inclusion.
