Job summary

Mount Isa Mines in Mount Isa, Queensland, Australia, is seeking a Supervisor – Fixed Plant Surface Assets. This team leadership role oversees maintenance of Surface Assets with an 8 days on, 6 days off roster and 12-hour shifts.

You will supervise the Fixed Plant Surface Assets team, drive safety, reliability, and cost control while mentoring staff and coordinating with the Superintendent – Fixed Plant Maintenance & Operations.

Qualifications

• Mechanical trade qualification (Boilermaker or Fitter).
• Understanding of asset maintenance systems and processes.
• Knowledge of continuous improvement methods.
• Demonstrated knowledge of risk management, safety systems and legislative requirements.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in leading people.
• Queensland Manual Drivers License (S1/S2/S3).
• Knowledge of conveyor systems.
• Experience in working within crushing environment.

Responsibilities

• Compliance with the weekly schedule to achieve KPIs and forecast costs.
• Communicate performance insights to line management on daily/weekly basis.
• Provide safety leadership across GFM and health and safety of the Surface Assets team.
• Mentor and coach to build employee competency.
• Manage the assigned cost Centre and capital projects.
• Ensure shift handover is successfully managed.
• Support the reliability team on asset planning to improve reliability.
• Provide visible leadership and ensure compliance to GFM policies, standards and procedures.
• Drive optimisation of resources and continuous improvement to minimise cost and waste.
