Job summary

Turnbull Engineering Pty Ltd is seeking a Principal Engineer – Substation Primary Design to lead the primary design of HV/EHV substations from concept to construction issue. You will set technical direction for the primary team, sign off on designs, and be the go‑to engineer for clients and contractors on plant, layout and earthing questions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's level electrical engineering degree with power focus.
• 15+ years in HV/EHV substation primary design with a track record of delivering projects to construction

Responsibilities

• Lead primary designs up to 500 kV for substations, and associated infrastructure.
• Specify and select primary plant including transformers, switchgear and protection.
• Review earthing systems per AS 2067, IEEE80 and ENA EG-0.
• Mentor graduates and intermediate engineers within the team.
• Contribute to proposals, scope definition and design programs.
