Job summary

KBR Australia is seeking a Principal Structural Engineer to lead the design and delivery of complex structural projects across buildings, transport and defence sectors. You will provide technical direction, project leadership and mentorship across teams, delivering high‑quality engineering solutions.

You will build strong client relationships, oversee proposals, scope definitions and fee estimates, manage risks and drive innovation while upholding Australian standards and safety.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural calculations, analysis and design reviews in accordance with Australian Standards and project requirements.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring and quality assurance support to engineers and designers across project teams.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor and identifying opportunities for business growth.
• Lead the preparation of proposals, tenders and project scopes, including resource planning, methodology development and fee estimates.
• Oversee design documentation, technical reports and engineering deliverables, ensuring high-quality outcomes and compliance with project objectives.
• Manage technical risks and complex engineering challenges, developing innovative and practical solutions.
• Represent KBR in project meetings, client presentations and industry engagements.
• Champion continuous improvement, innovation and best-practice engineering across the business.
