Job summary

KBR, Inc. is seeking a Principal Structural Engineer to lead and direct structural engineering efforts on defence and buildings infrastructure in Adelaide. You will drive design integrity, safety, and compliance while mentoring engineers and shaping project outcomes.

The role interfaces with construction teams, clients and regulators, offering opportunity to influence governance, bid support and continuous improvement across major defence projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent).
• Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) with Engineers Australia.
• Willingness to obtain RPEQ/RPEV or equivalent registration if required.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior structural leadership across complex buildings and defence infrastructure projects.
• Review and approve structural designs, shop drawings, construction methodologies, ITPs and temporary works.
• Resolve complex structural and constructability issues arising during construction.
• Ensure structural works are delivered in line with programme, budget, quality and safety requirements.
• Mentor engineers and support development; contribute to discipline standards and assurance frameworks.
• Support tenders and client engagements with senior technical input.
