Job summary

Village Roadshow Theme Parks is seeking a Kitchen Stewarding Captain at Sea World Resort on the Gold Coast. You will lead a stewarding team, oversee cleaning and safety practices, and ensure hygiene standards across a large kitchen operation.

The role requires experience in stewarding or kitchen operations, strong hygiene knowledge, and the ability to train and mentor staff. Weekend shifts apply on a rotating roster with weekday RDOs.

Qualifications

• Experience and knowledge of stewarding or kitchen operations.
• Strong understanding of hygiene standards and food safety requirements.
• Confidence in leading, training and mentoring others.
• Ability to identify and manage safety hazards.
• Flexibility to work across a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays (with weekday RDOs).

Responsibilities

• Lead, support, and motivate the stewarding team to complete daily tasks to a high standard, ensuring efficiency and consistency across all shifts.
• Coordinate and actively participate in cleaning duties to maintain spotless kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils, ensuring a safe working environment.
• Apply, monitor, and enforce food safety and hygiene procedures, maintaining full compliance with health and safety standards.
• Collaborate closely with the broader Food & Beverage team to support service operations and respond to changing operational demands.
• Assist with onboarding, training, and upskilling team members, fostering a positive, capable, and high-performing team culture.
