Job summary

Eureka Hotel is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join our busy kitchen in Geelong. This hands-on leadership role supports the Head Chef, leads service, drives quality and food safety, and helps manage a high-volume pub menu.

You’ll train junior chefs, assist with stock and ordering, and help create a positive kitchen culture while delivering consistent, great value dining for our guests, with evening and weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• Previous sous chef experience in a busy pub or restaurant.
• Hands-on leader who sets the standard.
• Ability to manage stock and ordering.
• Strong food safety and hygiene knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Support the Head Chef with day-to-day kitchen operations.
• Lead and motivate the kitchen team during service.
• Ensure food is prepared and presented to a high standard.
• Assist with ordering, stock control and kitchen organisation.
• Train and develop junior chefs.
• Maintain food safety and kitchen cleanliness.
• Step up in Head Chef's absence.
