Lucas Collective is seeking a Head Sommelier to lead and elevate our wine program across a growing portfolio of premium venues in Melbourne. The role demands strong leadership, deep wine knowledge, and a guest-focused service mindset.

You will drive cellar operations, stock control, and staff development, while collaborating with culinary and hospitality teams to deliver unforgettable wine experiences. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity with exciting expansion plans for 2026 and beyond.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience as Head Sommelier or Assistant Head Sommelier.
• Extensive knowledge of wine, including new and old world varieties.
• Strong leadership and ability to manage high-performing teams.
• Experience with stock control and inventory management is advantageous.
• Up-to-date with industry trends and guest-focused service.
• Full-time availability including weekends and holidays; WSET or equivalent is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the wine team to deliver exceptional service.
• Develop and elevate the wine program across multiple venues.
• Oversee cellar upkeep, stock control, and inventory management.
• Collaborate with front-of-house to optimize guest experiences.
• Build relationships with suppliers and manage budget targets.
