Job summary

Toowoomba Regional Council is seeking two Lead Senior Planners to join its Development Assessment team. One permanent full-time position and one 12-month fixed-term parental leave cover.

These senior roles provide technical leadership in development assessment, mentoring and support to the team, with a focus on delivering quality planning outcomes and clear advice to applicants and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Urban and Regional Planning
• Experience in development assessment and managing planning law matters
• Strong ability to provide technical guidance and mentor others
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership in the assessment of complex development applications
• Deliver quality planning outcomes and provide trusted planning advice
• Mentor and support less experienced planners and build team capability

Education

Relevant tertiary qualification in Urban and Regional Planning recognised by the Planning Institute of Australia (PIA)
