Job summary

Avant by Doctors for Doctors is seeking a Security Engineer to design and maintain security controls across cloud, SaaS and on‑premises environments. You will own security platforms, drive automation and DevSecOps practices to reduce manual effort while improving detection and response capabilities.

The role requires broad security experience with SIEM, EDR, cloud and network security, plus excellent stakeholder engagement and a collaborative approach to mentoring other engineers.

Qualifications

• Experience in Security Engineering, Infrastructure Security or related cyber security discipline.
• Hands-on with SIEM, EDR, Cloud Security, Email Security, Network Security or Vulnerability Management.
• Strong understanding of networking, OS, identity, cloud and SaaS security principles.
• Scripting/automation experience using PowerShell, Python or similar; DevOps-style practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain security controls across cloud, SaaS and on‑premises environments.
• Own and optimise key security platforms to stay effective and aligned with business needs.
• Develop automation, integrations and DevSecOps practices to reduce manual effort.
• Enhance monitoring, detection and response via SIEM onboarding and workflow optimization.
• Review and govern network security policies including firewall rules and secure connectivity.
• Support vulnerability remediation and secure configuration across the tech stack.
• Partner with tech and business teams to enable secure delivery and reduce risk.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring and guidance to other Security Engineers.
• Contribute to engineering standards and continuous improvement initiatives.
