Job summary

Southern Adelaide Local Health Network (SALHN) is seeking an experienced Senior Respiratory Scientist to lead the Respiratory Laboratory, oversee advanced lung function testing, and mentor junior staff. The role focuses on quality, accreditation, and policy input to ensure high standards of patient care.

The successful candidate will report to the Principal Scientist, drive service quality, and uphold national and international laboratory accreditation requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor level degree in an appropriate science field.
• Experience with respiratory physiology measurements and teaching.
• Knowledge of quality assurance and accreditation processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of advanced lung function testing in the Respiratory Function Unit.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to policy and planning.
• Maintain equipment reliability and accuracy of testing.
• Participate in Quality Management System development to meet accreditation standards.
