Job summary

JML Trades is seeking an experienced electrician to establish and lead our residential electrical division in Canberra. This role transitions you from on-the-tools to leadership, while staying connected to the trade you love.

You’ll build a team of electricians, mentor apprentices, oversee quotes and project quality, and work with our operations team to grow Canberra's leading multi-service business. This is day-one division development with support behind you.

Qualifications

• Extensive residential electrical experience.
• Experience building or growing an electrical department/business.
• Strong mentoring and people leadership skills.
• Ability to schedule, plan and manage multiple jobs.
• Excellent communication with customers and tradespeople.

Responsibilities

• Build, lead and mentor a team of residential electricians and apprentices.
• Establish systems and processes for the electrical department.
• Provide technical guidance and support when required.
• Review quotes, job reports and completed work for quality.
• Assist with scheduling and resource planning with administration.
• Visit sites to support staff and resolve issues.
• Coach team members to improve performance.
• Maintain strong relationships with customers.
• Identify opportunities for additional works benefiting the customer.
• Drive safety, quality and customer service culture.
