Job summary

Loco Love is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead on the factory floor in Byron Bay, Australia. You will manage a hands-on production team, ensure safety and quality, and drive continuous improvement on high‑volume lines.

You’ll work closely with the Production Manager and Quality teams to uphold HACCP/GMP standards and contribute to the expansion as the business scales over the coming year.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience in a HACCP and GMP/GHP-certified food manufacturing environment.
• Experience leading or supervising a production team in a hands-on environment.
• Experience working directly with production machinery, equipment and production lines.
• An understanding of how to maintain safety, quality and consistency when managing repetitive, high-volume production processes.
• A strong understanding of food safety, quality, GMP, HACCP and WHS.
• A Food Safety Supervisor Certificate, or willingness to obtain one.
• Experience working with SOPs, standardised work and continuous improvement.
• Confidence working with production data and inventory systems.
• Strong organisational skills and an ability to stay calm and practical when things get busy.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the Production Team Leads and wider production team, creating a culture of accountability, care and collaboration.
• Be a hands-on presence on the production floor, overseeing day-to-day production activities, machinery and team performance.
• Ensure machinery is operated safely, correctly and efficiently, and escalate maintenance or equipment issues when required.
• Oversee production lines and highly repetitive tasks, ensuring team members remain focused, engaged and consistent while maintaining quality and safety standards.
• Make sure daily and weekly production targets are met across volume, quality and efficiency.
• Monitor production performance and KPIs, identifying opportunities to improve and taking action when things aren’t on track.
• Support production planning and labour scheduling, helping identify bottlenecks, risks and resource constraints before they become problems.
• Ensure our food safety, quality, GMP, HACCP and WHS standards are consistently upheld.
• Investigate quality issues and non-conformances, getting to the root cause and putting preventative measures in place.
• Make sure SOPs, work instructions and standardised ways of working are understood and followed - and helping improve them when there’s a better way.
• Coaching, training and developing team members, building capability and helping people perform repetitive work safely, accurately and consistently.
• Ensuring cleaning, sanitation and production documentation is completed accurately and consistently.
• Maintaining accurate production and inventory data in DEAR.
• Working collaboratively with the Production Manager and wider team to improve factory efficiency, cost of goods, training and engagement.
• Supporting the HACCP team with ongoing compliance, audits and corrective actions.
• Contributing to the planning and implementation of our future production site, including the transition towards larger-scale machinery and increased production capacity.
• Being a positive, calm and visible leader on the floor - someone the team can rely on.
