Job summary

Atlassian is seeking an experienced Lead Product Designer to chart the frontier of AI monetization within our Usage-Based Pricing team. You will shape multi-year strategy for usage controls, budget management, and consumption analytics across Jira, Confluence, and related products.

You will lead design initiatives for real-time analytics, forecasting, and guardrails, partnering with product, engineering, and analytics to deliver a cohesive admin experience for global customers.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience designing complex, high-impact digital products, enterprise SaaS platforms, developer tools, or data-dense web applications.
• Proven ability to break down deep technical, financial, or algorithmic complexities into clear, intuitive user experiences.
• Demonstrated track record of leading ambiguous platform or zero-to-one initiatives, building partnerships with Product and Engineering leadership.
• Strong execution across user research, information architecture, interaction design, prototyping, and scalable design systems.
• Case studies showing deep systems thinking, multi-state workflows, edge-case management, and measurable user/business impact.

Responsibilities

• Define the multi-year experience strategy for usage controls, budget management, and consumption analytics across our central administration and billing consoles.
• Architect frameworks for how businesses monitor, allocate, and purchase AI capabilities alongside core platform features across products like Jira and Confluence.
• Design end-to-end user journeys for usage forecasting, threshold alerts, budget partitioning between departments, add-on purchasing, and automated usage guardrails.
• Partner closely with Product Management, Engineering, and Analytics leads, ensuring a cohesive experience whether an admin is setting company-wide policies or an end user is triggering an AI workflow.
• Set the benchmark for complex interaction design, partnering with our Design Systems team to create modern data visualization patterns, real-time telemetry dashboards, and predictive forecasting tools.
