Job summary

Atlassian is seeking a Lead Designer to guide how our identity system evolves and scales across a growing portfolio and audience. You’ll be hands-on, mentoring designers while shaping core brand elements and tokens, specs, and assets for engineers to implement.

You’ll lead multidisciplinary brand systems projects from brief to delivery, collaborate with product, marketing and design teams, and extend the brand into new territories. AI-ready guidance will be part of your remit.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional experience with ambitious brand systems work.
• Leading complex, multidisciplinary projects and directing creatives toward a shared vision.
• Deep expertise in identity elements: typography, color, layout, grid, hierarchy, iconography, imagery.
• Experience building design systems for brands at scale with tokens, specs, and assets.
• Strong stakeholder management and ability to guide AI-enabled brand workflows.

Responsibilities

• Shape and evolve the Atlassian brand system and its scales.
• Lead brand systems projects from brief to delivery with a hands-on approach.
• Be the main contact for leadership, clients, and agency partners.
• Collaborate with design teams so brand and product systems connect coherently.
• Extend the brand into new territories with strategy, marketing, and product teams.
• Turn the brand system into AI-ready guidance and tools for independent use.
