Job summary

The Arnott’s Group in Queensland is seeking a Lead Machine Operator - Afternoon Shift to join our Virginia team. This role focuses on operating packing machinery, feeding product on the line, and maintaining quality across production processes.

You will be a strong communicator with a mechanical mindset, contributing to a hands-on, supportive team. Applicants should have prior FMCG machine operation experience, solid problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Previous machine operating experience in an FMCG environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and confidence troubleshooting machinery.
• Understanding of team, safety, and quality operating principles.
• Knowledge of 5S and Lean Manufacturing principles (advantageous).
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
• A continuous improvement mindset.
• Strong performance and attendance record.
• High attention to detail.
• Strong leadership and collaboration ability.

Responsibilities

• Set up, changeovers, operating and troubleshooting of equipment within Arnott’s OH&S, Quality and Performance Standards
• Maintain smooth operation of packing machines and feeding stations
• Complete quality control checks throughout the shift
• Uphold GMP, HACCP and hygiene standards, ensuring all process areas remain clean and compliant
• Work both autonomously and collaboratively to meet daily production requirements
• Contribute to continuous improvement activities within the team
• Coach and develop team
