Job summary

Commonwealth Bank is seeking an Engineering Manager, Core Platforms (Observability & Service Management) in Melbourne. Lead a high-performing team delivering enterprise platforms, shaping observability and automation for a large technology environment.

You’ll drive modern engineering practices, cloud technologies and platform innovations enabling 10,000+ engineers to excel, with flexible work arrangements including partial office presence each month.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading engineering teams in large-scale environments.
• Strong leadership and people development capabilities.
• Experience managing budgets, financial controls and reporting.
• Exposure to observability, OTEL, ServiceNow and cloud platforms.
• Experience with AWS and/or Azure cloud technologies and modern cloud architectures.
• Knowledge of containerisation (Docker).
• Focus on operational excellence, reliability, risk and security practices.
