Job summary

Commonwealth Bank is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to lead the Institutional Lending Platforms engineering agenda from Sydney. You will shape modernisation efforts, drive AI-enabled practices, and ensure resilient, scalable services across LoanIQ-related ecosystems and integrations.

You will collaborate with product, architecture, risk and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality technology at scale while mentoring engineers and advancing engineering excellence.

Qualifications

• Leads across multiple teams and strategic platforms.
• Champions engineering excellence and AI-enabled SDLC practices.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience with enterprise lending platforms preferred (LoanIQ or similar).

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical direction for Lending, Pricing and ESG platforms.
• Provide architectural leadership across core lending platforms.
• Design scalable, secure services across APIs and integrations.
• Mentor senior engineers and uplift engineering capability across the crew.
