Job summary

AECOM Australia Pty Ltd in Sydney, NSW, seeks a Principal Electrical Engineer, Generation & Storage, to lead the electrical design and delivery of medium-voltage systems for utility-scale wind, solar, and BESS projects. You will move from concept through commissioning, balancing safety, performance and cost.

You will mentor engineers, coordinate interfaces, and apply PowerFactory studies, transformer and switchgear specifications, and protection philosophies to deliver practical, high-quality

Qualifications

• Significant experience (8+ years) designing and leading medium-voltage electrical systems (11 kV–33 kV).
• Proficiency with PowerFactory for load-flow and related studies.
• Strong transformer and switchgear knowledge and specs.

Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design approach for MV balance-of-plant systems on utility-scale generation and storage projects.
• Develop and review design bases, single-line diagrams, cable sizing and protection philosophies.
• Build and review PowerFactory models and perform load-flow, short-circuit, voltage and harmonic studies.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary inputs and mentor engineers throughout procurement, construction, and commissioning.
