Job summary

Maspro Engineering in Sydney is seeking a Mechanical Fitter to assemble hydraulic cylinders and precision mining components. You will provide technical oversight to a small Assembly Technician team, ensuring safe, high-quality workmanship and accurate interpretation of drawings.

The role demands hands-on fitting experience, strong problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to coaching others. This is a permanent, on-site position in Wetherill Park backed by an Australian-owned manufacturer.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in mechanical fitting or equivalent.
• Experience in mechanical fitting and hydraulic assembly.
• Ability to read drawings and use workshop tools.
• Capability to coach and develop junior technicians.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, fit and inspect hydraulic cylinders and mining components.
• Provide technical oversight to Assembly Technicians.
• Check and verify assembly work for quality and safety.
• Coach and mentor Assembly Technicians to develop skills.
• Interpret engineering drawings and tolerances for accurate assembly.
• Troubleshoot fitting and assembly issues with practical solutions.
• Identify opportunities to improve quality, safety and efficiency.
