Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Marine Structural Engineer to support planning, analysis, design and delivery of marine and port infrastructure in Western Australia. You will work with coastal, geotechnical, civil and environmental specialists across feasibility, concept, detailed design, construction support and asset management.

Work spans ports, wharves, jetties, berthing facilities and offshore structures. You will perform design calculations, reports, specifications and engage in asset life-cycle

Qualifications

• A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. (or related discipline).
• Experience in structural analysis and design of marine, port or waterfront infrastructure.
• Understanding marine loading conditions and durability in marine environments.
• Experience preparing engineering calculations, technical reports, specifications and design documentation.
• Familiarity with relevant engineering standards and structural analysis software.

Responsibilities

• Undertake structural analysis and design for wharves, jetties, berthing and mooring structures, dolphins, fender systems, marine retaining walls and offshore infrastructure.
• Assess vessel berthing and mooring loads, wave and environmental loading, seismic effects, fatigue and durability.
• Develop concept, preliminary and detailed designs, preparing engineering calculations, reports, specifications and construction documentation.
• Conduct marine asset inspections and structural condition assessments, recommending rehabilitation works and supporting asset life extension and lifecycle planning.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver engineering solutions meeting quality, safety, budget and programme requirements.
• Provide construction and commissioning support, including reviewing contractor submissions, shop drawings and temporary works designs.
• Build client relationships and contribute to proposals, tenders and the growth of our marine infrastructure portfolio in Western Australia.
