Stantec invites applications for Team Leader, Marine Science to lead and grow our Marine Science team in Perth, WA. You will provide strategic technical and people leadership, drive business growth through existing and new client relationships, and shape the direction of marine services across WA and nationally.

Qualifications

• PhD in Marine Science or Marine Ecology (preferred).
• Extensive experience in marine science or marine ecology, environmental consulting, applied research or a related field.
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams and complex projects.
• Strong understanding of WA and Commonwealth environmental approval frameworks, including WA EPA and EPBC Act requirements and marine regulatory processes.
• Expertise in marine environmental monitoring, marine fauna assessments, benthic habitat surveys, and environmental impact assessment.
• Established relationships with key industry stakeholders, clients and regulators across Western Australia.
• Proven ability to develop client relationships, secure new work and grow a sustainable business pipeline.
• Significant experience working in multidisciplinary teams within a consulting environment.

Responsibilities

• Leading and mentoring a high-performing team of marine scientists.
• Providing strategic technical leadership across marine, coastal and offshore projects.
• Developing and strengthening relationships with existing clients while identifying and securing new business opportunities.
• Leading major proposals, tenders and project pursuits across government and industry sectors.
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including our highly respected approvals and coastal engineering teams, to deliver innovative marine solutions for complex projects.
