Job summary

RPS, a Tetra Tech company, is seeking a Principal Marine Scientist to join our Perth team. You will lead the delivery of complex marine environmental projects while mentoring staff and helping shape the future direction of our Marine Science capability.

You will provide technical and commercial leadership across a diverse portfolio, develop client relationships, oversee field programmes in WA and interstate, and contribute to business development and high-quality reports.

Qualifications

Demonstrated expertise in marine environmental assessments including water and sediment quality.
Experience leading multidisciplinary teams on coastal projects and client relationships.
Strong report writing and communication skills for diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Lead delivery of complex marine environmental projects from proposal to completion.
Provide technical leadership across multidisciplinary teams.
Develop and maintain relationships with government and private sector clients.
Identify opportunities for business development and prepare proposals.
Lead water quality, sediment quality and benthic ecology investigations.
Ensure QA against guidelines and standards.
Advise clients on marine environmental management and approvals.
Plan field programmes and vessel-based surveys in WA and interstate.
Prepare high-quality technical reports and management plans.
Manage project budgets, schedules and risk.
Mentor senior and junior staff to maintain technical excellence.
