Job summary

Liverpool City Council is seeking a dynamic Team Leader to steer Library Collections across six libraries, including the internationally recognised facilities. You will shape collections to reflect community needs, build partnerships with suppliers, and lead staff in delivering high-quality services.

The role requires a degree in Library and Information Studies or related qualifications, at least five years in a public library and customer service setting, and strong leadership and budget

Qualifications

• A degree or post graduate in Library and Information Studies, conferring eligibility for associate membership of the Australian Library and Information Association or relevant tertiary qualifications in a related discipline
• Minimum 5 years' experience working in a public library and a customer service environment.
• Experience in formulating and drafting new policies, procedures programs and reporting processes.
• Ability to plan, resource and implement promotional activities in the area of collection development.
• Experience in developing collections in various formats within budget limits.
• Strategic planning, budget management and service improvement capability.
• Proven experience in supervising a service, including the provision of quality collection services.
• Class C Drivers Licence

Responsibilities

• Oversee delivery and continuous improvement of library collections across our libraries.
• Build and maintain partnerships with suppliers and external stakeholders.
• Support staff growth, supervision and training.
• Jump onto the front desk when needed, including occasional night or weekend shifts.
