Urban Grounds & Gardens is seeking an experienced Project Manager – Landscape Construction to join our Construction Division in Sydney. You will manage multiple commercial landscape projects from mobilisation to practical completion, ensuring on-time delivery, budget adherence and compliance with specifications.

The role requires strong leadership, WHS commitment and collaboration with clients, contractors and consultants. This full-time position offers growth within a growing division.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in construction project management, ideally in commercial landscape.
• Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
• Strong commercial management incl. budgets, forecasting, variations and margins.
• Experience with head contractors and contract administration.
• Proven leadership and people management capability.
• Solid understanding of WHS requirements, risk management and compliance.
• Experience procuring and cost-managing subcontractors.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, planning and problem-solving.
• Valid unrestricted Australian driver’s licence.

Project Manager – Landscape Construction

Urban Grounds & Gardens is seeking an experienced Project Manager – Landscape Construction to join our growing Construction Division.

Reporting directly to the Construction Manager, you will be responsible for managing concurrent commercial landscape construction projects of varying size and complexity, including softscapes, hardscapes, irrigation and minor civil works.

We are looking for a capable, hands‑on Project Manager with strong commercial acumen, proven leadership skills and an uncompromising commitment to workplace safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Delivery: Manage multiple projects from mobilisation through to practical completion, ensuring delivery on time, within budget and to specification.
• Commercial Management: Take ownership of project budgets, cost control, forecasting, progress claims, variations and profitability.
• Contract Administration: Manage contractual obligations, project documentation, subcontractor procurement and head contractor requirements.
• Leadership: Lead and support Site Supervisors, Leading Hands, field teams and subcontractors, driving accountability, productivity and performance.
• Safety & Compliance: Champion workplace safety and ensure compliance with WHS legislation, SWMS, company procedures and site requirements.
• Planning & Coordination: Manage construction programs, resources, procurement, subcontractors and competing project priorities.
• Stakeholder Management: Maintain strong working relationships with head contractors, clients, consultants and suppliers.
• Quality Assurance: Oversee workmanship, inspections, defects management and project handovers.

Skills & Experience

Essential:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in construction project management, ideally within commercial landscape construction.
• Proven experience managing multiple concurrent construction projects.
• Strong commercial management skills, including budgets, cost forecasting, variations, progress claims and margin management.
• Demonstrated experience working with commercial head contractors and administering construction contracts.
• Proven leadership and people management capability.
• Strong understanding of construction WHS requirements, risk management and compliance.
• Experience managing subcontractor procurement, performance and costs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, planning and problem-solving skills.
• Current unrestricted Australian driver’s licence.

Highly Regarded:

• Certificate III in Landscape Construction, Project Management qualifications or related trade/tertiary qualifications.
• Technical experience across softscape, hardscape, irrigation and minor civil works.
• Proficiency in construction project management and reporting software.
