Job summary

HL Landscapes is seeking three experienced Landscape Supervisors to oversee civil, commercial and structural landscape works across South-East Queensland. These roles require regular site travel and strong leadership to deliver work to programme, budget and specifications.

You will supervise teams, coordinate landscape activities, read drawings, and maintain quality and safety records on multiple projects, while liaising with clients and head contractors.

Qualifications

• Proven supervisory background in civil or landscape construction.
• WHS knowledge and capable site leadership.
• Ability to read civil drawings and ITPs.
• Strong written communication and disciplined site records.

Responsibilities

• Direct day-to-day site operations and lead teams to keep works on track.
• Coordinate hard and soft landscape works, including setout and drainage.
• Manage site resources to maximise productivity and control costs.
• Travel between project sites across South-East Queensland as needed.
• Read drawings and specifications to ensure works match design.
• Maintain quality records, progress photos and as-builts.
• Implement SWMS, permits, traffic management and safety inspections.
• Act as primary on-site liaison with clients and contractors.
• Provide mentorship to Leading Hands, tradespeople and apprentices.
• Document daily site diaries, timesheets and incident reports.

Three positions | 1 x commercial supervisor | 2 x civil supervisors | Multiple project allocations

HL Landscapes is seeking three experienced Landscape Supervisors to take day-to-day control of civil, commercial and structural landscape construction works across South-East Queensland. Successful candidates will be allocated to projects based on location, technical background and experience.

What you will do

• Site Supervision: Run day-to-day site operations, directing Leading Hands, tradespeople and subcontractors to keep works efficient and on track.
• Works Coordination: Coordinate hard and soft landscape works, including setout, levels, drainage, irrigation and related construction activities.
• Resource Management: Control daily labour, plant, materials and subcontractors to maximise productivity and manage costs. Deliver works to programme, budget, specification and required finish.
• Site Travel: Move between project sites across South-East Queensland as project needs require, staying close to the work and the people delivering it.
• Drawings and Specifications: Read and work from drawings, specifications and ITPs to make sure works are built as designed.
• Quality Control: Inspect work throughout the project, resolve defects and rework promptly, and maintain quality records, progress photos, as-builts and defect close-out.
• Safety Management: Implement SWMS, permits, traffic management, exclusion zones and plant controls. Run pre-starts, toolbox talks and regular site safety inspections.
• Communication and Liaison: Act as the main on-site contact for clients, providing progress updates and resolving concerns. Liaise with head contractors, consultants and internal project teams.
• Team Leadership: Lead and mentor Leading Hands, tradespeople and apprentices.
• Reporting and Documentation: Keep accurate site diaries and complete daily site reports, timesheets and incident reports for project records.

About you

• Proven supervisory experience in commercial landscaping, civil construction or construction.
• Minimum two years in a similar site supervision role preferred.
• Sound WHS knowledge and practical site leadership capability.
• Ability to read and work from civil drawings, specifications and ITPs.
• Strong written communication and disciplined site record keeping.
• Current Australian driver licence and Construction White Card.

Highly regarded

• Trade qualification in Landscape Construction or related trade.
• Civil infrastructure / Tier 1 or Tier 2 project experience.
• HR licence, Excavator and/or Skid Steer tickets.
